Latvian Council of Science Fundamental and Applied Research Project "Implementation of Transformative Digital Learning in Doctoral Program of Pedagogical Science in Latvia" (DocTDLL) lzp-2018/2-0180 planned activity guidelines include the theoretical study of Canada's experience and the acquisition of good practice in the field of transformative digital learning.

Canadian universities have special experience in the field of digital learning in different fields of science, including 21st century education. The Ontario University Institute of Technology's Innovative Bachelor's and Master's Degree Programs are designed to encourage students to prepare according to the requirements of the 21st century, based on the acquisition, application and development of innovative technologies, science-based higher education, the transfer of knowledge into the economy and cooperation with industry.

During the visit, the participants gained new knowledge about the field of transformative digital learning, raise awareness about the possibilities of using transformative digital learning in providing educators' education. Examples of good practice that provide the basis for a purposeful assessment of the transformative digital learning provision and the formulation of its improvement opportunities in the Latvian education system are introduced. The theoretical exploration of the Canadian experience and the acquisition of best practice in the field of transformative digital learning show that innovative processes are also taking place in pedagogical activities, especially those related to pedagogical means (content, programs, methods, techniques), which point to the novelty of the DocTDLL activity of the Fundamental and Applied Research project importance.

Teachers' education is increasingly using new technologies, on-line courses, an online learning environment that enhances the study process. During the visit, opportunities were created for contacts between leading specialists of the Ontario Institute of Technology EILAB and the scientific staff and doctoral students of the RTA Regional Institute of Regional Studies, as well as the future Fundamental and Applied Research project for DocTDLL activities in cooperation with Todd Blayone (Canada) and Olena Mykhailenko (Canada, Ukraine).

By ensuring the implementation of the doctoral study program “Pedagogy”, it is possible to integrate the results of the Fundamental and Applied Research project DocTDLL into the study process by involving PhD students in scientific research activities. (https://www.rta.lv/aktualitates/1838)
