“Eliminating Social Exclusion” (EliSE)
Often, parents of children with special needs choose not to venture anywhere. They frequently avoid travels since they are unaware of how to get the accommodations they need during the journey. On the other hand, companies that offer travel services, especially micro-companies, don’t know the needs of families with children with special needs.
The principal objective of the EliSE project is supporting parents of children with behavioral disturbs realizing an educational parent-training module for “fair traveling” in European countries and an educational toolkit.
Accordingly, the primary target group of this project is represented by social educators that will be trained on how to train parents of children with behavioral disturbs (parent-training).
For this purpose, our project aims at improving the competence of educators in the field of special education as well as to teach them on the use of parent-training techniques.
The other target groups involved in the EliSE project are the families of children with special needs, parents' associations, social services, NGOs involved in special need education, and companies that deliver travel services.
Target groups’ representatives are involved in the project’s activities through training activities, meetings, seminars, and online discussions. One short-term learning event will be organized involving selected persons from the target groups (social educators and parents) and experts. The Consortium is formed of six partners from six different countries, Latvia, Italy, Poland, Bulgaria, Greece, and Turkey.
The EliSE project will provide partners with the opportunity to share investigations conducted separately in the field of special need education as well as to confront ideas, practices, and methods in the sector of social integration. Thanks to this project, they will increase their capacity to operate at a transnational level.
This project foresees four IOs:
1. IO1: Model representing the various aspects which characterize travels of families with children affected by behavioral disturbs (months 1-6)
2. IO2: Online collaborative learning infrastructure (months 3-11)
3. IO3: Blended learning module for educators: “Supporting families with children affected by behavioral disturbs”
• Design of the module (months 6-8)
• Implementation of the module (months 7-11)
• Pilots (month 12-18)
4. IO4: Toolkit for Fair Traveling and Policy recommendations (months 17-24)
The project's impact includes:
• more active participation in society (social educators, parents, children, and stakeholders);
• improved competences, linked to professional profiles (social educators);
• better understanding of practices in education and training (educational institutions);
• more strategic and integrated use of ICTs and open educational resources (OER) in education and training (for educators, parents, and educational institutions);
• reinforced interaction between practice, research, and policy (educators, Parents’ Associations, Policymakers, Travel services companies).
Finally, our project can contribute to support migration of families with children with special needs offering them information on childcare inclusive settlements and guidance.
Rezekne Academy of Technologies (Latvia)
RTA was established on July 1, 1993. RTA is a state funded higher education and science institution of the Republic of Latvia which implements the study programs as well as is engaged in scientific, research and artistic creative work.
The aim of RTA is to provide academic and professional higher education in compliance with the science development level and cultural traditions of Latvia being competitive in the European education space; to develop culture, science and education in Latgale region and thus in the whole Latvia.
Tasks: to develop scientific research capacity; to ensure qualitative implementation of activities in interdisciplinary fields to implement the bachelor, master and doctoral study programs in cooperation with Latvian and foreign universities, to experimentally research how the new pedagogical technologies can positively contribute in the labor world growth; to ensure sustainable development of the scientific program and establish a link between science, practice and society.

Janusz Korczak Pedagogical University (Poland)
From its foundation, JKPU has grown dynamically becoming one of the largest non-public universities in Poland. It has a national structure with branches in various Polish cities: Warsaw, Lublin, Katowice, Olsztyn, Szczecin, and Czluchow.
JKPU established a very strong internationally oriented policy and co-operates with many international Higher Education Institutions and participates in the European educational programs. JKPU is an active member of various scientific networks and is strongly engaged in social innovation and social services.
JKPU developed and is developing many advanced educational programs funded by the Polish government and the European Union.
Saricam Halk Egitimi Merkezi (Turkey)
Sarıçam Halk Eğitim Merkezi is a public institution affiliated to the Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Life Long Learning. Our institution, which provides training services throughout the year, including weekends and evenings, carries out tasks in line with the principles and objectives of non-formal education.
The aim of non-formal education is to provide the citizens with basic knowledge and skills, to develop the knowledge and skills they have achieved at the last stage of their education and to provide them with new opportunities to earn their living. Non-formal education is also called adult education, community education, lifelong education. In the world, adult education institutions serving in the name of adult education center, public school, community school, multifunctional community center, labor university present activities in the name of public education center in our country.It coordinates non-formal educational activities organized by other public and private institutions and voluntary rganizations for public.
Interdisciplinary Network of Special and Intercultural Education INCLUDE (Greece)The Interdisciplinary Network of Special and Intercultural Education, «INCLUDE » is a scientific interdisciplinary educational centre that was founded in 2011 to promote inclusive policy for children with special needs and different cultural background, in accordance with the principles of the UN Conventions against Discrimination in Education and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The ultimate goals of INCLUDE network are i) to improve the quality of the life of children and families facing the risk of exclusion from the educational system as a result of disabilities and xenophobia, ii) to promote changes in social attitudes and perceptions towards diversity, and iii) to contribute actively and effectively to the creation of a truly "school for all".
The members of “INCLUDE” are scientists from different fields (education, special education, psychology, sociology, science, artificial intelligent, media, robotics, arts etc) cooperating towards foundation’s goals. The organization is located in a building granted by the Municipality of Thessaloniki and collaborates with local and international social, educational or academic organizations and research institutions. The building has 4 rooms equipped with the most modern ducational instruments for children according to UDL and future class, and also has a garden and playground. Based on the extensive scientific work from its academic members, Include was chosen by Scientix as one of the 30 organizations in Europe specialized in special education and to promote education for all in science (STEM education).
Ecoistituto del Friuli Venezia Giulia (Italy)
Ecoistituto is a non-profit research institute created in 1989.
Ecoistituto’s activity focuses on sustainable development following a multidisciplinary approach finalized to promote effective and sustainable results and to enhance the livability of citizens. Ecoistituto collaborates with higher education institutions, schools, and governmental institutions organizing conferences, courses, seminars, and workshops on sustainable development, social business, environmental education, and healthy behavior.
For the last 19 years, an annual international conference has been organized in collaboration with IPSAPA (Interregional Society for Participation in Agribusiness Landscape and Environmental Management) and the University of Udine about the themes of the “landscape mosaic”. Since 2005, Ecoistituto created the series of publications “Living in places”, devoted to the local cultures and 15 issues have been published.
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MUNICIPAL CLERKS IN BULGARIA (Bulgaria)
NAMCB is a registered non-profit, non-governmental organization uniting civil servants working in municipal and regional administrations in Bulgaria. The organization has more than 360 regular and associated members and more than 1,600 active supporters and volunteers all over the county. The organization works with key Bulgarian and international experts in areas such as public administration, education, law, communication, entrepreneurship, anti-corruption, etc.
The organization relies on excellent working relations with the local authorities in Bulgaria maintained through its members and schools in Sofia. NAMCB has the capacity to organize events in almost all 28 districts of the country, as it has active local members who can contribute to the implementation of various initiatives in the respective region. NAMCB works with specialists in the field of youth politics, youth unemployment and the social involvement so we can effectively coordinate the implementation of the different phases of the project in Bulgaria.
